For the past eight years, I’ve attended the Global Leadership Summit (GLS), an event that unites leaders from various fields to explore and elevate leadership. Here are a few reasons why I love GLS and highly recommend you attend this year’s event in just a couple of weeks!
1. Their Definition of Leadership
Leadership isn’t defined by your job title but by one simple word: influence. It’s all about how you wield that influence—whether at work, at home, or in everyday life. We can all benefit from learning how to use our influence positively and effectively from those who excel in leadership. Whether you’re a stay-at-home parent or a CEO, you have leadership responsibilities.
2. Insight from Church Leaders
Although GLS is not a church conference, it features exceptional church leaders who share their experiences and wisdom. Many leadership principles are rooted in scripture, and these leaders provide valuable perspectives that apply across all professions. Notable speakers have included Craig Groeschel, T.D. Jakes, Lysa TerKeurst, and Jo Saxton, among others.
3. Diverse Business Leaders
The summit also includes leaders from various sectors of the business world. From CEOs of major companies to founders of startups, these leaders share inspiring stories of perseverance and insight. For instance, there was a janitor at Fritos who had an idea and took it to leadership; now he’s a leader at Fritos himself! The event features a wide range of business leaders with diverse backgrounds and wisdom to share, including Mike Krzyzewski, Carey Lohrenz, President George W. Bush, Juliet Funt, and Danielle Strickland, among many others.
4. Beneficial Content for Everyone
GLS offers a variety of speakers and content focused on growth and positive development. The summit fosters uplifting and constructive dialogue, which is precisely what our world needs more of. As we grow in our leadership, we also grow personally, benefit our families, and contribute positively to the world by sharpening our skills.
No matter where you are in your career or life, you’ll find valuable insights that can help you grow and improve. I encourage you to grab a friend, bring a pen and notebook, and find a host site near you. You won’t regret it!
